Accommodation and rules

Welcome to the Gothenburg Basketball Festival – Europe's largest youth basketball tournament!

We want all participants to have an unforgettable experience filled with camaraderie, joy, and basketball. To ensure that everyone enjoys themselves, we have common rules that make the stay safe and pleasant for players, coaches, and officials alike.

Accommodation at schools During the festival, we offer simple and affordable accommodation at schools around Gothenburg. Where possible, we place teams and clubs at the same school. Girls' and boys' teams may share a hall, and all participants need to bring a sleeping bag and sleeping mat or mattress (max. 90 cm wide).
Unfortunately, we cannot offer separate rooms for coaches.

Important rules

Upon arrival, the coach/team leader is responsible for checking in and scanning the digital Cup Pass with the accommodation provider.

Arrival at schools is possible from Wednesday at 7 p.m. (earlier check-in is not possible).

Each team must have at least one responsible adult staying overnight with the youth team.

We always show respect for accommodation hosts, officials, and other teams—the festival is based on community and consideration.

Smoking indoors is prohibited.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Participants who are found to be intoxicated or in possession of alcohol will be sent home immediately, along with their team.

Cooking in halls and corridors is not permitted.

All premises are equipped with fire alarms directly connected to the emergency services – false alarms will be charged.

The team leader is responsible for the team and any damage caused to the school's premises or equipment.

Valuables must never be left unattended in accommodation halls or at the school.

Balls must not be bounced or used indoors in the accommodation area.

Showers are available in connection with matches in sports halls.

Damage and delays on departure will be charged to the team that caused them.

Times to keep in mind

The school entrance closes at 11:30 p.m. and reopens at 6:30 a.m.

For everyone's comfort, it must be quiet in the dormitories by 11:00 p.m.

Dormitories must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and approved by the dormitory host before departure.

Insurance

Each team is responsible for ensuring that all players are insured both on and off the field and have their own first aid kit with them. The festival does not have any collective insurance and is not responsible for injuries, illness, theft, or damage.
